Skip the fireworks and experience an incredible drone show at Santa Anita Park on July 4 at 9:00 pm. ✨

🚑🧠 Recognizing Excellence in Stroke Care 🧠🚑

The Arcadia Fire Department is honored to have received the Golden Brain Award for excellence in prehospital stroke care. Presented by the leadership and Emergency Department team at USC Arcadia Hospital on behalf of the Los Angeles County EMS Agency, the award was accepted by EMS Battalion Chief Jacob Sutton on behalf of the department.

In addition to the department recognition, the following members are individually recognized for their contributions to exceptional stroke patient care:

Firefighter/Paramedics: Patrick Crook, Erik Johnson, Re*****on Conatser, Nik Pheng, and James Gauger
Fire Engineers: Chris Klemm and Robert Clark IV
Fire Captains: Richard Harvey, George Couts, and Travis Ring
Ambulance Operators: Leonard Zamora, Brandon Abboud, and Derek Colon

This recognition reflects the dedication of our personnel and the strong partnership between the Arcadia Fire Department and USC Arcadia Hospital. Every stroke emergency requires rapid assessment, seamless coordination, and a shared commitment to providing patients with the best possible chance for recovery.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses, hospital leadership, and Emergency Department staff at USC Arcadia Hospital, along with the Los Angeles County EMS Agency, for their continued collaboration and commitment to advancing stroke care.

🚨 Welcome Vaheh Tomassian to the Arcadia Fire Department! 🚒
We’re excited to welcome Vaheh as our newest Fire Prevention Aide. In this role, he will support our Fire Prevention Bureau with inspections, public education, and a variety of programs that help keep our community safe.
Vaheh brings a strong work ethic and a passion for public service, and we’re excited to have him as part of the Arcadia Fire family.

🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸

Today we honor the American flag and the freedoms, service, and sacrifice it represents. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777.

If you have a worn or damaged flag that needs to be retired, the Arcadia Fire Department offers a flag disposal site at Fire Station 105 Headquarters during normal business hours. The collection box was designed and built by Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Jordan, a U.S. Navy veteran, to help our community respectfully retire American flags.

Today, we honor our flag and all that it represents.

Residents may notice smoke and hazy conditions throughout Arcadia. The smoke is from regional wildfires, and an air quality advisory is in effect due to unhealthy conditions. Currently, there is no fire in the City of Arcadia.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities, especially children, older adults, and individuals with respiratory conditions, keep windows and doors closed whenever possible, use air conditioning or air purifiers if available, and avoid prolonged outdoor exercise until air quality improves.

🔥🏡 Wildfire season is here - are you prepared?

Fire Prevention Specialists Angelina and Wendy kicked off the Arcadia Fire Department’s Defensible Space Assessment Program. They will be working directly with homeowners in the Very High Severity Zone to share tips and guidance on reducing wildfire risk around their properties. 🍂🧯🚒

This morning, the Arcadia Fire Department was honored to participate in the opening ceremony for the Field of Honor hosted by the Rotary Club of Arcadia. 🇺🇸

The display stands as a meaningful tribute to those who have served our country and community with courage and sacrifice.

We also want to thank Rotary for recognizing Firefighter/Paramedic Nicholas Russell as the Arcadia Fire Department’s Firefighter of the Year. 🚒 Nick’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving others reflect the highest standards of the fire service, and we are proud to see him honored by the community. 👏

Thank you to Rotary and everyone involved for continuing to support our first responders and creating such a powerful community tradition. 🇺🇸
