Northern Virginia Transportation Commission NVTC advances a robust and reliable public transit network to support communities in Northern Virgin NVTC works to ensure that businesses and residents are served by a high capacity, high quality network of transit systems that allows the region to thrive.

It funds and promotes transit in the counties of Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. NVTC supports five local bus systems (ART, CUE, DASH, Fairfax Connector, Loudoun County Transit), WMATA (Metrorail/Metrobus) and the Virginia Railway Express.

With minimal transportation platform, Youngkin will take over a Virginia with many road, rail priorities

“I think that someone who is hoping to create jobs in Virginia will see that transportation and specifically investments in transit are absolutely essential to that goal,” said Katie Cristol (D), a member of the Arlington County Board and chair of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission.

Youngkin said little on the campaign trail about his transportation platform, outside of plans to remove a recent gas-tax increase.
