Happy Birthday, U.S. Air Force! Decades of AF logisticians making a difference in the world. 🎂 ✈️ 🔧 ⚙️

Today is more than just the United States Air Force’s 73rd birthday. Today is an opportunity to reflect on where we came from, how we got here and where we are going.

For more than seven decades we have served, fought, bled and died because our great nation needed us. We have broken barriers, some cultural and some sonic. We have dared to push boundaries, test our own limits and achieve the impossible.

We are, and continue to be, the world’s greatest Air Force.

Happy birthday, wingmen!

Special thanks to our outgoing ER Editor in Chief, Capt David Loska. Strengthening Industrial Base Decision-Making for Precision-Guided Munitions - War on the Rocks

The munitions professionals of LOA will be happy to see the renewed focus and investment in developing a surge capability of stand-off weapons.

"The United States needs to ensure the underlying industrial base can support the surge production of not just one munition, but multiple munitions systems simultaneously. The knowledge and insight to properly assess industrial base capabilities requires not only data collection and curation, but the development and deployment of analytical capabilities designed to identify potential bottlenecks and offer strategies for mitigating such risks."

The Next CSAF Lays Out Top Priorities - Air Force Magazine

The next CSAF, Gen Charles Q. Brown details "Establishing Flexible Logistics" as one of the USAF's top priorities. LOA will aim to be a leader in addressing these priorities--this is the work we do every day!

The Air Force’s fiscal 2021 budget requests funds to ensure the service is capable of conducting “logistics under attack,” something USAF considers key to success in a highly contested environment. Brown wants to invest in pre-positioned logistics, something PACAF already is doing, and said he supports “initiatives focused on more agile, resilient, and survivable energy logistics—from bulk strategic supplies to deliveries at the tactical edge.” He also supports the idea of “expeditionary logistics under attack,” saying the service needs to provide “agile and survivable forward communications” to defend against an attack in cyberspace.

Good day everyone! My name is Steven Amaya and I am an MBA student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I am currently writing my master thesis on Green Logistics Indexes and analysis and I am gathering data on companies actions in making their supply chain environmentally sustainable. I am encouraging all Logistics Managers, Experts, and/or Consultants to partake in my survey! I ask you answer thoroughly and honestly in order to gather precise data. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and can be done on mobile or desktop. Thank you again for your time and have a wonderful day! Steven G. Amaya #supplychain #data #logistics Link to the survey:
Asking for advice: Since arriving to my base, I noticed there was no active LOA but plenty of officers and some are showing interest. There was one in the past but it died away a while ago. I want to bring it back to life! Any recommendations on (re-)starting LOA at a base?
Team, I am working on my Master’s thesis, which aims at improving wooden pallet (skid) disposition process for USAF using effective reverse logistics supply chain principles. Your feedback is greatly appreciated as it will help identify potential performance gaps across military organizations. Your personal information and responses will be kept secured and anonymous. Please take out 5 mins of your valuable time to complete this 9 question survey, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YZCSQ5Q Thank you in advance! Respectfully, Himanshu Chopra
Loggies, You may have heard me say that "I stand on the shoulders of giants." MGen Harris was one of those giants. I met Gen Harris when I was a Lt attending SAC Maintenance University on a field trip to Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. I didn't realize her significance in Air Force history then. I attended her funeral today and joined many others in saying goodbye to a true pioneer. Team Dover Mission Generators under the leadership of Cols Tyler Schaff and Chris May supported a C-17 fly-by in Gen Harris' honor. May she rest in peace....
Thanks to LOA for a great Symposium! I know from personal experience how much work goes into putting an event like this on. Great to see the energy of the young loggies out there. Again, thanks!
Dialed into the LOA and AOA Presidents telecon today. What all stars. LOA’s local chapters are where the rubber meets the road and my hats off to the leadership that bring it all together. Such amazing things happening within your chapters ! Thank you for all you do !
Congratulations to the 341st Maintenance Group, 341st Missile Wing for winning the 2017 Phoenix Award. They are the best of the best field maintenance unit in the Department of Defense!
