Excited to hear how the Sustainment Strategic Framework and Tesseract AF is progressing in the weeks to come. Big news on the horizon!
Lt Gen Warren Berry's Advanced Manufacturing Olympics message from AF RSO event -- October 20-23, 2020.
A team of Airmen at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson had a concern about deploying short notice. They noticed that Airmen were spending a lot of time standing in line at a warehouse waiting on mobility gear, rather than generating sorties.
Capt Jamey Shuls and his teammates at JBER envisioned an app that allows Airmen to fully kit and order their mobility gear before they even show up to the warehouse. This concept, called URSUS, is now a Tesseract pathfinder.
As a strategic partnership with the Air Force Research Lab Information Directorate, the goal of URSUS is to code and field an enhanced user-interface application to connect and co-exist with our legacy #logistics IT systems.
Even now, Airmen across the country are driving readiness forward by testing the prototype and paving the way for an incredible #transformation... only possible because folks like SSgt Meyer and Capt Shuls not only think big, they put #action behind those thoughts to make them become a reality. #LeadBoldly

Based on a treasure trove of data our Foundations project seeks to give leaders tools that help them build a culture of empowerment in their organization by developing psychological safety, increasing feedback, and generating #trust.
Lieutenant General Berry highlighted optimizing manpower and getting after retention in his recent White Paper โAn Enterprise View of the Compounding Risk in Sustainment.โ He keyed into a 2019 retention survey that highlighted mid-tier enlisted claiming that higher stress, excessive workload, lack of manpower, poor #leadership and negative intra-organizational climates were central to an Airmanโs decision to depart the Air Force.
Creating an environment where leaders can build and sustain positive unit #culture and climates is critical to innovation.

Innovation requires inventiveness and a commitment to experiment and test hypotheses.
Along the way, we expect to be misunderstood and welcome the opportunity to bring others along to see the vision we are working toward.
In this sense, when learning is baked into our goals, we can succeed even when projects or pathfinders fail.
