Multiple Arrests Made in BCSO COPS Team Operation

A Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office investigation has led to multiple arrests.

BCSO’s COPS Team (Community Oriented Policing) is a collaboration between Detectives and Patrol Deputies that works with community members to solve quality of life issues in areas where we receive a high volume of complaints of crime activity. After receiving tips from the community, the team recently executed a search warrant at a home located at 4 Coffey Circle (also known as 135 Stradley Mtn. Road) near the intersection of Sardis Road and Brevard Road. During the search, the team located five people with multiple active felony warrants along with 20.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, a stolen motorcycle, multiple stolen driver’s licenses and social security cards, and a notary stamp.

BCSO District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge: “The success of this team is a testament to our commitment to serving our community. Information provided by our community members is key to helping us target our resources where they are needed and address reoccurring problems. This is just the beginning. There will be more of these operations and more arrests.”
