Atglen Borough Residents; One component of our public water maintenance program is in the Spring, we flush the water distribution pipes. We do this by opening some of the fire hydrants and letting the water flow. Sometimes this creates a change in the appearance of your household drinking water. The water may appear discolored or cloudy. The water has been treated and is safe to drink, cook and bathe. Before you wash your clothes, confirm the water is clear. If you ran the washing machine and the laundry appears discolored do not use bleach. Bleach will set the rust stain in the clothing.
