Atglen Borough reigned supreme in the second annual Battle of the Boroughs food drive, collecting 2,747 pounds of nonperishable food for the Octorara Area Food Cupboard. Atglen competed against the Parkesburg and Christiana boroughs, with the three areas collecting 7,067 total pounds of food throughout the event.

"I was shocked at how well the food drive went based on the amount of donations we received," Jennifer Grossman said. "Everybody was very generous with giving this year, and it showed."

This summer 3 boroughs came together for a friendly competition to collect food for the Octorara Area Food Cupboard. Parkesburg Borough, Christiana Borough and Atglen Borough together collected over 7000 lbs of food! It was a tight competition, but Atglen pulled ahead at the end.
