Due to the unhealthy air quality, tonight’s EPIC Night has been canceled to keep our community, vendors, volunteers, and performers safe. We’re disappointed, but everyone’s health comes first.

The good news? We’ll be back next Thursday and can’t wait to see you all at Emerson Park for another amazing evening of live music, local nonprofits, food, and community fun!

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll see you next week for an even bigger EPIC Night!

Air quality in Cayuga County and across New York State has been affected by wildfire smoke. This may cause negative health effects, particularly in sensitive groups such as older adults and those with chronic health conditions. Limit time spent outdoors and limit the flow of outdoor air into your home (while still ensuring you're staying cool in this heat!)

Monitor air quality in your location by visiting www.airnow.gov

Please be advised that Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) have been confirmed on Cayuga Lake. People, pets, and livestock should avoid water that contains suspected and confirmed HABs as HABs can cause negative health effects in people and animals.

A major win for Cayuga County!

Today, we celebrated the announcement of a $3.1 million grant award to replace the Deauville Island Bridge at Emerson Park.

Cayuga County Legislature Chairman Jonathan Anna highlighted the significance of the project, stating:

“This award reflects years of planning, collaboration, and hard work by county staff, community partners, and elected officials. It is exactly the kind of strategic investment that helps communities like ours remain vibrant, competitive, and economically strong.”

This investment will improve safety, preserve access to Deauville Island, support tourism and recreation, and position Emerson Park for future growth—all while reducing the burden on local property taxpayers.

It was an honor to celebrate this year's Senior Citizens Award recipients and recognize their outstanding service, dedication, and contributions to our communities. These individuals have made a lasting impact through their volunteerism, leadership, and commitment to improving the lives of others.

Congratulations to all of the awardees, and thank you for helping make Cayuga County a better place to live, work, and thrive.

Judy Dunaway of Fair Haven and John Wilmot of Port Byron were recognized by the Cayuga County Legislature at their May 26th meeting at the Sterling Nature Center. Office for the Aging Director, Brenda Wiemann, shared heart-warming examples of all the contributions these two individuals have made in their communities.
