MaineHousing works across a wide variety of initiatives to help Mainers buy, rent, heat, and repair their homes. One area is development of new housing of a range of types. We're grateful for partners -- like Penquis- Helping Today Building Tomorrow and so many others! -- who make this work possible.

Penquis- Helping Today Building Tomorrow held a ceremony Friday marking the construction of Milford Place, a 40-unit affordable housing development for older Mainers. Milford Place, located near Mary Snow School, is an important project addressing the need for more affordable housing in the community.

The City of Bangor contributed funding to the project and City Councilor Carolyn Fish is pictured providing remarks during the ceremony. At right is Penquis Housing Development Director Larry Rogers. Fish spoke of the importance of providing new housing opportunities in Bangor.

Several organizations were instrumental in supporting the Milford Place project, including MaineHousing, Bangor Savings Bank, Evernorth and Penobscot County.
