MaineHousing maintains several social media accounts as a means for connecting with Mainers about the programs and services MaineHousing offers. Our goal is to provide updates about MaineHousing programs and services, share success stories, and encourage comments, ideas and feedback. M
aineHousing’s social media platforms are moderated. Comments will be reviewed for compliance with our Comment Policy after posting. MaineHousing will review comments during regular business hours and comments received after hours or on weekends or holidays will be reviewed as early as possible. Any comments that do not comply with our Comment Policy will be deleted and MaineHousing reserves the right to ban commenters from our platforms if similar actions continue. MaineHousing’s social media platforms do not act as a substitute channel for services or general information. MaineHousing’s social media platforms are not to be used for: conducting business; providing unsolicited proposals; submitting claims, demands, informal or formal legal complaints; or reporting criminal activity. MaineHousing expects commenters will respect the dignity of others and not harass or degrade others. MaineHousing’s social media is not a place for defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, misleading, mean-spirited or threatening comments. Comments will be removed if they are:
• Obscene, profane, indecent, lewd, s*xually explicit, or pornographic s, whether or not masked using symbols, intentional misspellings or characters;
• Abusive, threatening, intimidating, bullying, attacking, harassing or stalking;
• Hateful or discriminatory in any way, whether based on race, color, religion, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, familial status, or receipt of public assistance;
• Libelous, defamatory, derogatory, false, fraudulent or misleading;
• Spam, virus, malware, spyware, or any other harmful element;
• Solicitations for sales in any form for products that are not MaineHousing approved;
• Off-topic;
• Believed to contain plagiarized material or material that violates intellectual property rights;
• In violation of federal, state or local laws; or
• Believed to contain sensitive and/or private, personal information, including photos. This list is not exhaustive. MaineHousing reserves the right to remove any comments that it determines to be inappropriate. The comments expressed on MaineHousing’s social media platforms do not necessarily reflect the opinions and official position of MaineHousing. All comments and posts are subject to all applicable public records laws and regulations, including the Maine Freedom of Access Act. By submitting a comment or post, commenters warrant and represent to MaineHousing that their comments/posts: are not confidential; do not violate any rights of any third party; do not contain any viruses or harmful elements; are not misleading or fraudulent in nature; are posted by a person authorized to do so and not by a person impersonating any person or entity; and follow MaineHousing’s Comment Policy.
