**** Our non emergency phone lines are back up and running ***

We are currently experiencing a technical issue with our business phone line to the PD. We are still able to be transferred 911 calls and respond as normal but if you have called our business line and not been answered this is why.

We will temporarily be using the phone number 207-242-4451 as our non emergency/business line.

It is being worked on as we speak. We will update as soon as this is fixed. Thank you for your patience.

"Wanted Wednesday Alert"

Your community needs your eyes! This week we're seeking information on individuals from these photos who are connected to local incidents. Recognize someone? Your tip could be the key to solving a case. Please contact the investigating officer in the caption with any information, no detail is too small. Together, we can make a difference.

We know some of these pictures are not the best, we are doing what we can with what we have. I know people are often curious about why we are looking for the people in these cases and often the assumption is shoplifting (which we get because the photos are usually of store cameras). We do not post about why we are looking for people to protect the integrity of the case. We could be looking for someone because of an assault, hit and run, credit card fraud, forgery, or a theft; using the store's cameras or home security cameras are often the best we to ID someone.

We are deeply saddened by this news, our hearts go out to Warden Pilot Tibbets family, friends, and co-workers.

Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is heartbroken to share that Game Warden Pilot Joshua Tibbetts died this morning in a plane crash in Avon, ME.

Game Warden Pilot Tibbetts served the people of Maine as a Maine Game Warden for 18 years, including the last three years as a pilot for Maine Warden Service. In that role, his specialized aviation work supported search and rescue, law enforcement, fisheries and wildlife conservation, and public safety across the state.

This is an incredibly difficult loss for his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Maine Warden Service. We ask the public to keep his loved ones, his fellow Game Wardens, and all those affected by this tragedy in their thoughts in the days ahead.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Department will cooperate fully with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

We are grateful for the emergency personnel who responded to the scene and for the support already being shown to the Maine Warden Service family.
