This afternoon much of Maine is expecting heavy rain and potentially flash floods.

MaineDOT is preparing for today's inclement weather by monitoring at risk bridges where there is expected to be heavy rain and flash flooding.

Monitoring these bridges consists of ensuring the water level does not exceed marker panels placed on the bridges. If the water does rise to the level of the panel or above, MaineDOT will close the bridge affected to ensure it is only in use when safe.
