Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present legislative sentiments to some very deserving constituents.

Janine Tremble was recognized with the 2025 Sarah Dubay Community Service Award by the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce. In addition to being a dedicated volunteer for local causes, including serving on the Bangor Region YMCA board since 2017, Janine leads Maine Savings sponsorships and donations program. We're truly lucky to have Janine in our community!

I also presented a legislative sentiment to Brewer School Department Superintendent Gregg Palmer congratulating him on his retirement after 31 years in public education. Congratulations, Gregg!

Yesterday, Kim and I attended Vice President Vance’s event in Bangor focused on addressing fraud in our welfare system. It was encouraging to see this important issue receive the scrutiny and attention it deserves.

The Senate adjourned Sine Die, or without day, last Wednesday, leaving a critical child welfare reform bill to die in the possession of the House. Here is a clip from my floor speech opposing adjournment and supporting this important bipartisan reform legislation.

Last week, I had the opportunity to present a Legislative Sentiment to the Hampden Academy Broncos Girls Indoor 4x200-meter team recognizing them for winning the Class A State Championship earlier this year. Not only did this incredible team win the state title, but they also set a new meet record with a time of 1:46.73.

It was a true honor to recognize the legendary George Hale in the Senate last Friday. George worked in broadcasting for 77 years, and he always remained a calm voice of reason. The scale of George's career cannot be overstated. I know I'll certainly miss hearing George's voice on Maine's airways. Enjoy your retirement, George.

This morning, I had the chance to recognize Russ Bartlett in the Senate. After 30 years of coaching the Hampden Academy Broncos Boy's Basketball team, Russ has announced his retirement. Thank you, Russ, for your decades of dedicated service and enjoy your retirement!
