Celebrating the Heart of Conley-Guerrero: Our Amazing Volunteers! ✨💛

We recently hosted our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to honor the incredible individuals who keep our center vibrant, welcoming, and thriving every single day!

Every participant here is a true community member to this facility. We are witnesses to their actions every day—how they tend to welcome everyone and make it a second home for a lot of people. Whether they’re decorating our spaces, donating handmade items for prizes and fundraising, serving food, or volunteering their time to lead daily programming, they truly embody the spirit of community. It is a true honor to celebrate the time we’ve shared together and all that they have contributed.

To make this day extra special, we were joined by Katrina Saporsantos, who treated us to a breathtaking musical performance. We were also honored to have City of Austin Chief of Staff, Genesis Gavino, lead our keynote address and present well-deserved awards to our standout volunteers.

Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and heart with our community. You make Conley-Guerrero a true home!

Celebrating 250 years of community spirit! We had a wonderful Fourth of July program at Conley-Guerrero, welcoming 150 neighbors for food, games, and prizes.

Independence Day celebrates our nation, and part of that identity is the diverse heritage of those who call it home. We were honored to showcase that diversity with a talented guest singer and beautiful Asian folk dances by the Rosy Sunset Dancers.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. Our community is richer and stronger because of you!

Our Givens Senior Program participants enjoyed a wonderful visit to the community garden, taking in the beauty of nature, sharing stories, and celebrating the simple joys of spending time together.

After exploring the garden, everyone gathered for a group photo to capture a day filled with fresh air, laughter, and meaningful connections. Moments like these remind us that it's never too late to learn, explore, and make lasting memories. Thank you to everyone who helped make this outing so special!

We had a fantastic time hosting our Spring Celebration at the Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center! It was a day filled with laughter, creativity, and—most importantly—connection.

From hands-on art activities and games to exciting prize opportunities, our seniors enjoyed a vibrant afternoon of socializing. We were also proud to host several local organizations and nonprofit groups who joined us to share vital services and resources directly with our community.

Events like these ensure our residents stay active, engaged, and informed. Thank you to all the partners who helped make this celebration a success!

Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center teamed up with SAIVA, the South Asians' International Volunteer Association to decorate tote bags for children in foster care.

In Central Texas, many foster children move homes with only trash bags for their belongings. These hand-designed totes are meant to change that—offering a sense of permanence, dignity, and care. Each bag is a message to a child that they are supported by their Austin community.

Thank you to SAIVA and all our participants for turning an afternoon of art into a lifetime of impact!
