This Saturday, September 13, is International Day of Caves and Karst, a celebration of these fragile underground ecosystems!

Did you know there are several hundred known caves just in Austin? These spaces are part of the Edwards Aquifer, critically important in our region for water storage, wildlife habitat, and, where the space allows, human exploration!

📢 New Design Requirements for Water Quality Ponds in the Barton Springs Zone

We're updating the Environmental Criteria Manual , & the new rule will take effect on October 1, 2026. To help prepare for this change, we're hosting two virtual training sessions covering the changes & the impact on projects.

Online Trainings:
· Friday, September 18, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
· Friday, September 25, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

SIREN TEST 🚨 Austin Water will test the Longhorn Dam floodgate warning sirens next Tuesday, September 15, at 10 a.m. The siren will sound continuously for 5 minutes. No emergency is occurring and no action is required.
