It's that time of year again! The Big Horn County Fair is here! Saturday August 1st is the BHC Fair parade. The parade will start at 10am and go until finished. We are anticipating approximately 1 hour. The map below shows the parade route (in yellow) and the detour route for through traffic (in blue). The "X" marks locations of barricades. We will start placing barricades at approximately 915am starting with the side streets. Traffic will be completely shut down at 945. Please refrain from driving or parking along the parade route during this time. We will open normal traffic as soon as the parade concludes. Please do not drive through or around any of the barricades. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to keep the parade participants and attendees safe

COMMUNITY REMINDER

As summer arrives, the Basin Police Department would like to remind residents that the Town's W**d and Junk Ordinance will be enforced throughout the season.

Please ensure your property is free of excessive weeds, tall grass, junk, debris and junk vehicles. Keeping our properties maintained helps keep our community safer, cleaner and more attractive for everyone.

We appreciate the pride our residents take in our town and thank you for your cooperation.

Seniors and residents with disabilities, if you need assistance with property maintenance please contact us.

If you have any questions about the town ordinance, please contact the Police Department or Town Hall.

Today, April 22nd, 2026 the county Fire warden has issued a burn ban due to red flag conditions. This means no open burning anywhere in the County.

You can be kept up to date on any fire bans by making sure you call Big Horn County dispatch before you burn. 307-568-2341.

**After a brief ride along he decided he'd rather continue his normal job of protecting his family from squirrels and the like. He was very well behaved and the Chief will write him a letter of refence any time. He's back home with his family!**

Does this sweet guy belong to you? He showed up and wanted to put in an application. Unfortunately we are not hiring at this time. He chose to do a ride along instead. If he is yours could you call the PD to set up a time to pick him up. 307-568-2341.
