What a night in the classroom! We put our legal knowledge to the test at Are You Smarter Than a Law Student?, and these teams brought their A-game! Congratulations to C'est Law Vie, our 2026 champions, and Certiorari Not Sorry, our well-deserved runners-up!

A huge thank-you to our five incredible law student participants for keeping us on our toes, our wonderful host, Luke Williamson, for keeping the laughs and competition going and our generous sponsors for helping bring this one-of-a-kind event to life.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came out, cheered on the teams and made the night such a memorable one. We had a whole lot of fun putting the law to the test, and we hope you did, too!

Until next time, class dismissed!

Team No. 4 has entered the classroom! Welcome to C’est Law Vie.

Amy Lambert, Scott E. Mercer and Thomas R. Temple Jr. are ready to put their litigation experience and legal knowledge to the test in a little friendly competition.

They spend their days defending clients. Now, they’ll have to defend their answers against a classroom full of law students. The question is: Will their experience win the day, or will the students have the last word?

What does life as a young lawyer really look like? Last week, Southern University law students had a chance to ask Young Lawyers Section Council members this question and more as part of our Law School Outreach initiative.

Chacity Simmons, C. Troy Hall, Mitchell Conner and Rebecca Moreno presented on a panel discussion about navigating life as a young lawyer, getting involved with the Baton Rouge Bar Association, exploring nontraditional career paths and finding opportunities to grow professionally and give back to the community.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions, hear firsthand experiences from local attorneys and learn how to become BRBA student members.

Thank you to Southern University for welcoming us and to our panelists for sharing their time, experiences and advice with the next generation of attorneys!
