Western PA Bleeding Disorders Foundation

Western PA Bleeding Disorders Foundation Welcome! Learn more, visit: http://www.wpbdf.org WPBDF serves families with bleeding disorders in 26 counties of Western Pennsylvania.

WPBDF strives to enrich the lives of those with bleeding disorders in Western Pennsylvania and respond to the needs of the community in a dynamic environment. Membership is free for people with bleeding disorders as well as their family members and friends. We provide patient assistance to our members with bleeding disorders as well as hold a variety of educational events that cover a wide range o

f topics. Because bleeding disorders impact nearly every area of our members lives, we strive to provide relevant and timely information about everything from raising affected children to dealing with financial stress to joint health and treatment concerns and much more. In addition to large, chapter-wide events, we have several small support groups that meet throughout the year such as the men’s group, women’s group, and a First Steps program that specifically addresses concerns of parents of children under the age of 8. Our office is located in Beaver, PA. We are a completely separate organization from the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania but work very closely with them in making sure that our members are well supported.

A quick Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk update 🩸 We’re sorry to share that Rocky Bleier is no longer able to join us at this year’s Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk due to a scheduling conflict.

We’re grateful for Rocky’s support and were so excited to welcome him to the Walk this year. While we’ll miss having him with us, we’re still looking forward to an amazing day at North Park on September 19!

There’s so much to look forward to, including the Pinwheel Ceremony, 5K Run, family-friendly activities, games, raffles, breakfast snacks, and most importantly, coming together with our bleeding disorders community!

A look back at our Pinwheel Ceremony from last year…

Hundreds of people gathered for one common purpose, to make a difference in the Western Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders community. The Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk may be one day, but the impact is felt year-round. From a new parent meeting other parents at a New Parent Network event, to a teen gaining confidence through our Teen Group, to a family receiving support during a difficult time, your generosity helps make these moments possible.

Every step taken, every dollar raised, and every donation made helps ensure that individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders have access to education, resources, support, and a community that understands.

Thank you for making a difference. We can't wait to walk with you again on September 19! Register today at: https://bit.ly/wpbdf-unite

We had a great day at Carnegie Mellon University’s Community Engagement Fair! We had the opportunity to connect with students, share more about the Foundation and what we do, and highlight our Women, Girls, and People with the Potential to Menstruate with Bleeding Disorders Initiative.

We had some incredible conversations and are excited about the possibilities for future partnerships!

Thank you to CMU’s Office of Community Engagement and Leadership Development for hosting this incredible event and giving us the opportunity to connect with and engage with your students!

Will you be part of the 2026 Factor Club? 😍 We all know the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk is a fun way to reconnect with old friends and spend a beautiful morning with the only people who know first-hand the ups and downs of a journey with a bleeding disorder.

But, when you step up to help us raise funds to make sure all people with bleeding disorders have uninterrupted access to treatment, support, and advocacy during these uncertain healthcare times, you’re part of an exclusive group we call the Factor Club.

Factor Club members are individuals who raise $500 or more for their walk, are recognized during a special ceremony on Walk Day, and will receive this limited-edition Factor Club medal (and this year, it spins!)

There’s still time to reach $500 and earn your spot in the 2026 Factor Club! Register today at: https://bit.ly/wpbdf-unite

Every donation makes a difference, and every donor should know how much their support means!

Taking a few minutes to send a thank-you message, make a quick phone call, or write a handwritten note lets your donors know they're making an impact. A sincere thank you not only shows your appreciation but also helps strengthen your connection and encourages continued support for the bleeding disorders community.

Remember, your donors aren't just supporting your fundraising goal, they're helping provide education, resources, and community for individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders.

A little gratitude can make a lasting impact.

One morning. Lasting impact. When you volunteer at the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk, you're doing more than helping at an event.

You're welcoming families.
You're celebrating milestones.
You're creating memories.
You're helping build a community where no one faces a bleeding disorder alone.

Join us on September 19 and experience the difference a few hours of your time can make. Email Jessica at [email protected] or call the Foundation at 724-741-6169 to sign up!
