Have you ever thought about continuing your education in the medical field? Becoming a Nationally Registered certified EMT is a great starting point. Community College of Beaver County will be holding the next EMT course in January 2027. Don't wait to sign up. There is a limit on the number of students who can sign up for the course. The last few courses held have had a waiting list to get in.

While most stings cause mild pain and swelling, a severe allergic reaction can develop quickly. Knowing the warning signs can help you act fast when every second matters.

Seek emergency medical care immediately if you or someone else experiences trouble breathing, dizziness, a rapid heartbeat, hives, or a sudden drop in blood pressure after a bee sting.

🐾 A parked car can become dangerous for pets in just minutes.

When temperatures rise, the inside of a vehicle can heat up much faster than many people realize. Even with the windows cracked, pets can quickly experience heat-related emergencies.

☀️ Warm weather = rapid temperature increases inside a vehicle
🚗 Cracked windows do not provide enough protection
🐶 Pets can suffer heat exhaustion or heat stroke in a short amount of time
❤️ The safest place for your pet is at home or somewhere cool and ventilated

If you see a pet showing signs of distress, contact local authorities or emergency services right away. Help keep our four-legged family members safe this summer. 🐾

Did you know? More than 5,000 people are treated for choking each year. Choking can happen quickly and often occurs when you're alone. Knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference.

If someone is choking:
🆘 Call 911 immediately
🗣️ Ask if they can speak or cough
🤲 If they cannot breathe, cough, or speak, begin abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver) until the object is dislodged or help arrives

If you're choking and alone:
🪑 Use the back of a sturdy chair or countertop positioned just above your belly button
⬆️ Forcefully thrust your abdomen inward and upward against the edge
📞 Call 911 if possible
