I’ve had some people questioning the lifejacket policy at the Pool. I will post this at the pool. Please message me if you have any questions. 785–527–3512.
To help ensure the safety of all patrons, the following rules apply to the use of life jackets and flotation devices at the pool:
1 Life Jackets in Deep Water
◦ Swimmers who are unable to swim independently are not permitted in water that is over their head, even when wearing a life jacket or other personal flotation device.
◦ Life jackets are prohibited in deep water for non-swimmers. The use of a life jacket does not replace the swimming ability required to enter deep-water areas.
2 Floaties and Inflatable Flotation Devices
◦ Arm floaties, inflatable rings, noodles, and other recreational flotation devices are not considered life-saving equipment and should not be relied upon for supervision or swimmer safety.
◦ Pool management reserves the right to restrict the use of flotation devices based on safety concerns, crowd conditions, or programming needs.
3 Parent/Guardian Supervision
◦ Any swimmer requiring a life jacket, floaties, or other flotation assistance must remain within arm’s reach of a parent or responsible guardian at all times while in the water.
◦ Parents and guardians are responsible for actively supervising children and non-swimmers. Lifeguards are present to enforce safety rules and respond to emergencies but do not replace parental supervision.
Failure to follow this policy may result in removal from the water or facility to maintain a safe environment for all patrons.
