Just look at all these new books!

It was Dino Play day! We started the morning by reading "Baby Dinosaur" by Clare Lloyd and a page out of "Tony T-Rex's Family Album" by Mike Benton. We leaned the difference between Paleontologist and Archeologist. We then picked a dinosaur egg and headed outside where we created a HUGE mess to "unearth" our little dinos. We also used our sense of touch to try to figure out what was in our sensory bins and used our fingers to create dino pictures. We made dinosaurs out of shapes. Lastly, we served lunches as part of Feeding America West Michigan Gather 2 Grow Program.

Thank you to those that came and to those that volunteered their time and talents to make this day a hit.

Next week we will partner with Benzie Conservation District as we explore Fresh Dirt! Join us Wednesday June 24 @ 10:30am. Gather 2 Grow Program will follow at 11:30am.

Oh we had a great Summer Reading Kickoff Saturday! We had books to give away, dinos to adopt, cookies to decorate, collages to make and footprints to paint. Thank you to all who came, signed up and made beautiful art. Thank you to our volunteers who helped prepare and work the stations.

Join us again this week - Wednesday, June 17th at 10:30 am as we continue to Unearth a Story by breaking open breaking open dino eggs, using your sense of touch in a sensory bin, building a dino out of shapes and making dinos out of your fingerprints. Afterward, we have the program Gather 2 Grow, where you can choose a lunch to take home.
