Bexley E-Bike & E-Scooter Course
Sunday, August 30 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Bexley City Hall

Attention all parents, teens, and e-bike/e-scooter riders! Our next City of Bexley e-bike and e-scooter class will be held Sunday, August 30 at 1:30 pm at City Hall. Bexley has age-appropriate laws regulating the use of e-bikes and e-scooters in Bexley, including laws requiring classes and bike registration for kids under the age of 16 who wish to ride an e-bike, and age restrictions for the use of e-scooters. E-bike and e-scooter classes are taught by Bexley Ohio Police Department officers and it's a great chance to ask questions and learn more about staying safe while you have fun. As an important note, as with all bikes/scooters and any other mobility devices used by kids on roadways, helmets are always required in Bexley. Sign up at bit.ly/bexleyebikecourse2026.

Citywide Curbside Branch Collection Continues
Central Bexley Is Complete - Collection Continues in North and South Bexley

Many large trees and limbs are down in Bexley as a result of Tuesday's storms. The City has arranged for crews to remove limbs and branches beyond what Rumpke typically accepts in an effort to support residents with storm cleanup. City crews have completed curbside collection of branches in Central Bexley, but collection continues in some areas in north and south Bexley. This collection is a big job, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. A huge thank you goes out to our Service Department for their continued work on this effort. If you see a Service Worker out helping with cleanup, please be sure to offer them a smile and a wave of thanks!

Mosquito Spray - Area North of Fair
Spray will Begin Tuesday, August 18 at 9:00 pm (weather permitting)

Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) confirmed that mosquito pools in Bexley in the area north of Fair Avenue (FCPH splits Bexley into two districts - north of Fair and south of Fair) have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). FCPH will be spraying starting at 9:00 pm on Tuesday August 18, weather permitting. Spraying is generally complete by midnight.

You can opt out of a mosquito spraying online. If you have already filled out a 'Do Not Spray' request form this year, you do not need to submit the form again.

This spraying will not eliminate all active mosquito species in Bexley. Residents should continue to be vigilant about removing sources of standing water to discourage mosquito population growth. The chemicals being used in this spraying are Permethrin and Piperonyl Butoxide.

Learn more at mosquito.myfcph.org/prevention-tips-tools. Opt out of spraying or sign up to receive emails about future spraying at mosquito.myfcph.org/spray-notification-do-not-spray.

Citywide Curbside Branch Collection Begins Monday

Many large trees and limbs are down in Bexley as a result of Tuesday's storms. The City has arranged for crews to remove limbs and branches beyond what Rumpke Waste & Recycling typically accepts in an effort to support residents with storm cleanup. Beginning Monday, August 17 city crews will drive every street to collect limbs placed on the tree lawn for pickup. Please be patient as collection may take several days depending on volume.

Please follow these guidelines so we can serve everyone efficiently:

- Place limbs on the tree lawn: This is the grass strip between the sidewalk and street.
- Long branches are okay: Please do not cut branches into small sections.
- Maximum diameter: 8 inches: Limbs larger than 8 inches in diameter cannot be processed by our wood chippers.
- No firewood or logs: This service is limited to storm cleanup. Please do not place firewood or other logs in the tree lawn.
- Crews will make one pass through the city, generally moving west to east. Once a street has been completed, crews will not be able to return.

A huge thank you goes out to our Service and Police Departments. Both have worked extra hours in less than optimal weather conditions to support cleanup throughout the City. If you see a service worker or police officer out helping with cleanup, please be sure to offer them a smile and a wave of thanks!

Bexley Celebrations & Events' Jazz in the Park Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather

Due to very wet conditions at the park and weather coming in during equipment setup, we’re cancelling Jazz in the Park for this evening. We'll take a look at the calendar and see if we can find a makeup date later in the season - until then, stay dry, Bexley!
