DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Saturday, October 24 from 10-2 at Bexley Ohio Police Department Lobby

As part of DEA Takeback Day, Bexley PD will collect prescription and over the counter tablets, capsules, softgels, and other types of pills in the Police Department front lobby. Liquid products, syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs will not be accepted. Empty pill bottles can also be dropped off for special recycling in partnership with Rumpke.

On Sunday, the Columbus Marathon returns to Bexley on their annual quest to raise money for Nationwide Children's Hospital. Please note the streets below will be closed during the race. Due to the number of participants, it will not be possible to cross closed streets during the race. Officers will be posted at major intersections to assist in the event of an urgent need, and as always, in the event of an emergency, call 911. Thank you for your understanding and for helping to keep runners safe!

Bexley City Council Elects Michael C. Price as Mayor

September 30, 2026

Tonight in accordance with Bexley City Charter, City Council voted to elect Michael C. Price as Mayor of the City of Bexley, effective immediately. This vote followed the formal resignation of Mayor Ben Kessler, who has accepted a new position with the Columbus Partnership after serving as mayor of Bexley for fourteen years.

Mayor Price, who has served Bexley as the Recreation and Parks Director for the past 17 years, shared inspiring inaugural comments at tonight’s meeting, sharing his gratitude for Mayor Kessler’s service and for the opportunity to serve Bexley as Mayor. The meeting, which also includes memorable remarks from community leaders and outgoing Mayor Ben Kessler, can be viewed on the City's Youtube Channel.

More details will be shared in this week’s Blast, including special messages from Mayor Price, Council President Saad, and former Mayor Kessler.

Grand Opening - Pedestrian Bridge & Skate Park

Please join us for a celebration of Bexley’s newest additions to Schneider Park, Bexley Skate Park and the Schneider Park Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge. These new park amenities have already welcomed many community members and neighbors, winning praise from skating enthusiasts and ensuring a safe and beautiful connection between Schneider Park and the Alum Creek Greenway Trail in the City of Columbus. Bexley Reuse Pilot

Green Bexley's Bexley Reuse Pilot is aiming to keep 13,000 containers out of the landfill in one year, and it's never been easier--or more delicious--to help out. Next time you have leftovers from Harvest, Kittie's Cakes, Moshi Sushi Bar, , Bexley Zen Cha cafe & tea, or , ask for a reusable to-go container instead of one that is single use. You can check out a container similarly to checking out a book from the library. This program takes inspiration from the local reusable coffee cup program with Central Ohio Reuse Coalition (CORC) and is funded with support from Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio - SWACO and City of Bexley, Ohio.
