In response to an increase in brush fires, strong winds, and an abnormal lack of rain, a burn ban has been issued for Craighead County effective immediately and until further notice. 🔥

The burn ban will be enforced by the Craighead County Sheriff's Department, local fire district officials, the Craighead County Office of Emergency Management, and the Arkansas Forestry Services.

This weekend we spring forward as Daylight Saving Time begins. While you’re adjusting your clocks, Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR) encourages everyone to take a minute to check the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Working smoke alarms are one of the simplest and most important ways to protect your family from fire. A properly working smoke alarm can give you the early warning you need to get out safely.

✅ Test all smoke alarms in your home
✅ Replace batteries if needed
✅ Make sure alarms are installed in bedrooms, hallways, and each level of your home
✅ Replace smoke alarms that are 10 years old or older

That quick battery change could save your life.

Bono Fire Protection District was dispatched to a fire in County Road 105. This controlled burn on County Road 105 caught a dead tree on fire. These firefighters made quick work on this fire. Thank you guys for the your commitment to protecting your community!

Eric Gongloff with Troop 115, Bono has created bags to help children meet basic needs on a call. The Firefighters encounter situations were these bags can offer hope and remind families that there are caring people in this world! Sometimes these small gestures build hope and help people through some of the toughest times in there lives!This young man has given back to his community in a big way!! We are so grateful!!
