Founded in 1977, Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of domestic violence awareness efforts and of shelter and supportive services to survivors. Our comprehensive range of services, available in both Spanish and English, provide survivors with tools to recover from the trauma of abuse and begin to build sustainable self-sufficiency. Each year, we serve over 2,000 survivors through three residential programs, housing assistance and advocacy, financial literacy education and job readiness skill building, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy and representation, children’s services, and community-based advocacy. Casa Myrna operates SafeLink, Massachusetts’ statewide 24/7 toll-free domestic violence hotline, which answers over 27,000 calls annually. We also provide domestic and dating violence awareness and prevention services by educating teens and adults across the state through workshops, seminars, trainings, social media, engagement with the media and annual ad campaigns on mass transit systems. We support ALL survivors regardless of race, ethnicity, language, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or sexual orientation.

For the second year in a row, shelter families were able to go on a summer outing thanks to the generous donations of our community!

Moms and their children went to Kidztopia Boston, where Child Specialist Ieshia Marshall said the children got to bond with one another, have fun and spend quality time with their families outside of the shelter environment.

"The smiles, laughter and excitement from the children really showed how meaningful the experience was," Ieshia said. "We are so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible."

The countdown is on until we can plan another great trip and make more positive memories next summer!

School is back in session, and from the littlest learners to high school seniors, Casa Myrna supported nearly 200 students this season! It wouldn't have been possible without our partners at organizations like the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Mintz, Guardian Life, Aura Biosciences and many others.

Whether you're an individual who donated one backpack, or a company who donated dozens, we appreciate your support!

We have been distributing backpacks all week! Our drive is successful in part due to corporate partners like Mintz, who donated 15 backpacks for our school-aged children this fall. Thank you for making back to school a time to look forward to!

It is back to school and this week our staff are giving out nearly 200 backpacks to school-aged children connected to Casa Myrna through our shelters, economic stability, community advocacy, legal advocacy programs and more.

Our annual Backpack Drive wouldn't be what it is without partners like Guardian Life who put together dozens of backpacks filled with supplies after a recent lunch and learn! Thank you for setting these students up for success!

We're calling on our community to help make positive memories once again this summer for our shelter residents!

Last summer, thanks to our amazing community, Casa Myrna families enjoyed a day at Starland Sportsplex. Almost a year later, children are still talking about the fun they had and the memories they made.

Right now, Casa Myrna is supporting 14 survivors with 8 children and 3 single residents in our shelters, with more families expected in the coming weeks. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by July 31 to give every resident the opportunity to enjoy a special day of fun, connection, and healing.
