Casa Myrna

Casa Myrna Until every relationship is safe and healthy

Founded in 1977, Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of domestic violence awareness efforts and of shelter and supportive services to survivors. Our comprehensive range of services, available in both Spanish and English, provide survivors with tools to recover from the trauma of abuse and begin to build sustainable self-sufficiency. Each year, we serve over 2,000 survivors through three reside

ntial programs, housing assistance and advocacy, financial literacy education and job readiness skill building, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy and representation, children’s services, and community-based advocacy. Casa Myrna operates SafeLink, Massachusetts’ statewide 24/7 toll-free domestic violence hotline, which answers over 27,000 calls annually. We also provide domestic and dating violence awareness and prevention services by educating teens and adults across the state through workshops, seminars, trainings, social media, engagement with the media and annual ad campaigns on mass transit systems. We support ALL survivors regardless of race, ethnicity, language, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or sexual orientation.

In just the last week, there have been multiple devastating and fatal incidents of domestic violence across Massachusetts. Abuse is a pattern of behaviors that oftentimes doesn't start with physical violence. If you have concerns about your own relationship, or if you're worried about a friend or family member, our SafeLink advocates are available 24/7 as a safe resource to talk with.

Although such tragedies are often described an "isolated incident," the truth is domestic violence is a public health problem that will take collective work to change. You can help today by spreading awareness and resources with your networks.

🚨Urgent Advocacy Needed 🚨

Casa Myrna is facing a $600,000 cut in federal funding starting in July. This amount is far higher than we originally expected, and without action, this loss will directly impact services that survivors rely on every day.

To address this, Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance introduced the TRUST Line, a permanent line in the state budget. The House is considering this budget right now, and we need your calls and emails to get it passed. We have a sample script and email you can send your Rep: https://casamyrna.org/get-involved/raise-awareness/
