A fresh coat of paint is giving the “Welcome to Bowman” signs a brighter, more welcoming look. As one of the first things people see when arriving in Bowman, keeping these signs bright and inviting helps make a great first impression. Thank you to Cathy Hedge for painting the signs and bringing this refresh to life!

These improvements are funded through City of Bowman Tax & Tourism dollars. Tax & Tourism dollars are generated through local lodging and restaurant taxes and are reinvested into projects and efforts that help enhance the visitor experience and support tourism in our community.

Since the fall of 2022, Bowman County Development Corporation’s workforce incentive programs have supported 𝟓𝟑 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬, representing more than $𝟖𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 invested in workforce attraction and retention.

These programs are designed to help Bowman County employers recruit and retain employees in positions that can be difficult to fill.

Businesses considering a new hire are encouraged to contact BCDC before making an employment offer, as applications must be submitted before hiring to remain eligible.

Local employers can also promote available positions through the free job boards at BowmanND.com and SWNorthDakota.com.

We’re excited to welcome Hayden Cristaldi as our new Deputy Director!

Hayden will help lead major economic and community development efforts across Bowman County and southwest North Dakota, working with businesses, communities, developers, public partners, and regional organizations to move important opportunities forward.

His work will focus on areas such as:
• Housing and infrastructure
• Business and industrial development
• Major regional projects and partnerships
• Helping communities turn opportunities into action
• Supporting strong coordination across BCDC, RCRC, and our regional partners.

Hayden will also play an important role in evaluating new opportunities, building relationships, and helping make sure major projects have the right people, resources, and next steps behind them.

We’re excited to have Hayden on the team and look forward to the leadership, perspective, and energy he’ll bring to the work happening across our region.

The new Veterans Wall at the Bowman County Courthouse stands as a lasting tribute to more than 𝟏,𝟓𝟎𝟎 𝐁𝐨𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬. Their names are proudly displayed in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

Bowman County Development Corporation was honored to support this meaningful project through a $𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭.

The Play It Forward Fund is made possible through charitable gaming revenues generated at participating Bowman County businesses. Those dollars are reinvested into local projects that strengthen our communities and improve quality of life.

Thank you to the Bowman County Veterans Services Office - Bowman, ND and the Bowman, Rhame, and Scranton American Legions for the time, planning, and hard work it took to bring this tribute to life.

Two years ago, Casey Hande ran into a problem that he could not seem to solve. Lucky for Bowman County, this problem led to the creation of KC Creek Apparel. 💫

Allergic to wool and dissatisfied with synthetic baselayer options on the market, Hande began searching for a better alternative. His answer came in the form of bamboo fabric, a natural fiber known for its temperature-regulating and quick-drying qualities. That discovery became the foundation for KC Creek Apparel, a Bowman-based, online company focused on premium bamboo baselayer clothing.

In the company’s early stages, Hande concentrated on testing fabrics and refining designs to create a product that met his standards for comfort, performance and durability. The business took a major step forward in November 2025 when Hande brought on Tieggan Rouleau of Starched Denim Designs as a full-time marketing and operations manager. Rouleau is based in Buffalo, Wyoming, which now serves as the location for KC Creek Apparel’s marketing operations and apparel warehouse.

Today, KC Creek Apparel operates as a direct-to-consumer brand offering men’s and women’s bamboo baselayer shirts in a range of fabric weights. The company also offers a growing line of caps and plans to expand into long underwear and vests as it continues to build out its baselayer offerings.

The Main Street Garden has been growing in this location since 2022 and over the years it has become a vibrant and well-loved part of our community.

We’ve loved seeing this space come to life from the plants and produce to the people who cared for it, visited it, and made it their own. Community spaces like this mean so much in a rural community, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of the garden’s story.

With our lease ending and the property moving into new ownership, the Main Street Garden’s time in this location has come to an end. We know this space has been meaningful to our community, and while we don’t know what the future holds just yet, we are hopeful that there may be an opportunity for a community garden to grow again in a new place.

Thank you to everyone who planted, watered, harvested, volunteered, visited, and helped make the Main Street Garden such a special place.
