Patchy fog could settle in throughout the region tonight ahead of a cold front bringing areas of moderate to heavy rain overnight. Temperatures will get into the upper 50s and 60s. Some areas could experience reduced visibility; stay weather-aware when driving through foggy conditions.

Not every road follows the same rule. Review Maryland's school bus stopping laws so you'll know what to do when the lights start flashing.

Knowing when to stop — and when you may proceed with caution — helps keep students safe and traffic moving as it should.

Take a minute to review the graphic before school starts Wednesday. When in doubt, slow down, pay attention and be ready to stop.

When a fire starts, the instinct is often to aim straight at the flames. But the PASS method – Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep – teaches the proper technique.

The "Aim" step means directing the extinguishing agent at the base of the fire, where the burning process is happening. Aiming lower helps interrupt the fire and can help control it before it grows.

While shopping for school supplies, watch out for hidden toxins in everyday items like markers and art supplies. If possible, choose products that are non-toxic. But remember, even products labeled non-toxic should not be eaten. Talk with children about safe storage and use of school supplies both inside and outside of the classroom!
