Good work!

On 09/03/2026 just before 7:30am, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 phone call indicating that a 57-year-old male was found deceased inside his home in the 800 block of 9127 State Highway 25 NE (The Meadows). Deputies arrived moments later and located the deceased male with an apparent stab wound. Information was quickly gathered and a person of interest was identified. The information obtained indicated that the suspect may be on his way to another home in Cass County to harm another individual. With the assistance of Flock Safety automated license plate camera’s, the person of interest was quickly located and taken into custody approximately 10 miles away from the Cass County residence. A shotgun was found in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The individual at the Cass County residence was located unharmed.

This incident remains under active investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Zariah has been located and is safe

A vulnerable juvenile female, Zariah Peterson was reported missing after running away from a group home in Brd on August 12, 2026.
Recent social media information indicates she may be in the Minneapolis area near the 1100 block of 37th Ave N
If you have seen her or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact law enforcement immediately.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office will be at the fair throughout the week at our command trailer near the Public Safety Building.

Each day, we’ll feature a different part of our office:

Tuesday: Mounted Patrol
Wednesday: Drone Team and jail fingerprinting
Thursday: Bomb Team featuring our famous robot dog, Spot
Friday: Tactical Response Team
Saturday: Boat and Water Division and jail fingerprinting

🎡 Visit LALEA at the Crow Wing County Fair! 🎡

The Crow Wing County Fair begins Tuesday, August 4, and the Lakes Area Law Enforcement Association will once again be located in the Public Safety Building throughout the fair.

This year, LALEA is focusing on educating families about the harmful effects of va**ng—especially the risks va**ng poses to students and young people between the ages of 8 and 15.

Youth who stop by the LALEA booth will have an opportunity to answer a few questions about va**ng and learn more about making healthy choices. Every student who participates will be entered into a drawing to win an electric scooter and helmet! 🛴

Bring the family, visit the Public Safety Building, meet members of local law enforcement, and learn more about the dangers of va**ng.

We hope to see you at the fair!
