Some stories don’t start with us.

Generational trauma can live on in ways we may not immediately recognize—in our relationships, emotional responses, beliefs, and even in the body itself.

Join Sergio Ocampo, BEng., MA, LMFT, SEP™ for an experiential SEI Short Program exploring what we carry across generations—and the resources, resilience, and strengths that can travel alongside it.

Through guided somatic practices and reflection, you’ll explore inherited patterns with curiosity and appropriate pacing, begin to differentiate what belongs to your own experience from what may have deeper roots, and discover new possibilities for what you choose to carry forward.

What role does the body play in psychedelic preparation and integration?

Join Joshua Sylvae, PhD, LMFT, SEP™, for The Somatic Side of Psychedelic Healing: Working with the Body in Preparation, Experience & Integration.

This 10-hour introductory program explores the intersection of psychedelic-assisted therapy and Somatic Experiencing®—with a focus on the nervous system, trauma, and practical somatic tools for preparation and integration.

Through live instruction, group exercises, and discussion, you’ll explore an embodied framework for supporting clients—even if you don’t plan to directly guide psychedelic journeys.

Sometimes, our attention gets caught on what feels uncomfortable. Pendulation is the gentle movement of attention between a little discomfort and something that feels more settled or supported. 🌀

Try it with us:

🌿 Start with support. Notice your feet on the floor, your back against a chair, or a place in your body that feels comfortable—or simply neutral. Take a moment to notice what that feels like.

🌿 Briefly notice a little discomfort. If it feels manageable, bring your attention to an area of mild tension. There’s no need to explore anything overwhelming or make the sensation change.

🌿 Return to support. Bring your attention back to the place that felt more settled. Give yourself time there.

You can gently move your attention back and forth a few times, at your own pace. Notice whether anything shifts. It’s okay if nothing does.

The practice isn’t about forcing yourself to relax. It’s about noticing that discomfort can be one part of your experience, while support is also available.

If the discomfort grows, pause. Look around the room and notice something familiar or pleasant. You can stay with support for the whole practice. đź’›

Pause. Notice.

Before moving on to the next thing, take a moment to notice what’s here.

What is your body communicating?
Where are you holding tension?
What feels settled?
What might be asking for a little more space?

We can become so practiced at continuing that we stop noticing what it costs us.

Somatic Experiencing® invites us to slow down enough to listen—not to fix or force what we find, but to meet ourselves with a little more awareness.

Your nervous system is always communicating. What do you notice when you make space to listen?
