Protect Girls' Sports in Maine

Protect Girls' Sports in Maine We've launched a ballot referendum to designate sports & facilities by s*x. Now we need 70K signatures to get on the 2026 ballot and protect girls sports in ME!

Courageous, harrowing testimony last week about the state of Maine schools by Molly, a young female student, athlete, and older sister. She shuts down the myth "it's not happening here", making it clear that:

🚨 It's very, very common for Males to be in Female private spaces in schools (bathrooms, locker rooms)
🚨 Her younger sister has been exposed to a Male ma********ng in the Female locker room
🚨 Girls are terrified to speak up

To be very, very clear:
👉 This is happening in our schools.
👉 This is a violation of the s*x-based Civil Rights of children.
👉 This must end!

Our referendum, “Act to Designate School Sports Participation and Facilities by S*x”, solves this issue fairly and inclusively:
✅ Defines “S*x” as one’s biological status on their original birth certificate
✅ Designates school sports by S*x: male and female (and when a single s*x option isn’t available for both s*xes, that sport is co-ed)
âś… Designates all private facilities (bathrooms, locker rooms, showers) by S*x

We are simply reclaiming the s*x-based civil rights of our state’s most vulnerable population: its children. Join us at http://ProtectGirlsSportsInMaine.com

Our Principal Officer, Leyland Streiff, delivers testimony to the judiciary committee in support of LD2239. Our bill - which will designate school sports & private spaces by S*x (not Gender) - protects the civil rights of ALL Maine's children, and stops the s*x-based discrimination happening every day in our schools.

The “Act to Designate School Sports Participation and Facilities by S*x” does exactly that:

✅ Defines “S*x” as one’s biological status on their original birth certificate
✅ Designates school sports by S*x: male and female (and when a single s*x option isn’t available for both s*xes, that sport is co-ed)
âś… Designates all private facilities (bathrooms, locker rooms, showers) by S*x

This is inclusive, fair, safe. We are simply reclaiming the s*x-based civil rights of our state’s most vulnerable population: its children.

Our position is common sense:

âś… Our act ends the s*x-based discrimination happening today. If a female student wants a female-only space, that is her civil right that has existed for 50+ years. She is owed it by law.
âś… Our act respects Gender Identity while recognizing biological fact, and protecting S*x-based rights. We have the progressive belief that there is no right or wrong way to be a male or female! Dress, feel, present, identify how you want. Everyone has a S*x, and that is not your Gender.
âś… Our act does not change civil rights laws. It simply clarifies the laws that already exist today in our state, and is in unison with the Maine Human Rights Act and Federal Title IX

Students, athletes, coaches, parents, and more showed up in Augusta to provide testimony and defend s*x-based civil rights in schools, urging the legislature to pass LD 2239 immediately. Spoiler alert - they voted down party lines, didn't pass it, and we're still headed to the November ballot box!

The IOC (International Olympic Committee) has officially designated sports by s*x (male and female) for all Olympic Games. It’s certainly time Maine does the same for competitive sports & private spaces!

The women's category of Olympic sports will be limited to biological females from 2028, says the International Olympic Committee.
