We have been receiving a lot of call recently about hornets, specifically the yellow-legged hornet and the Asian giant hornet. This post gives a breakdown, with pictures, that may be able to put your mind at ease!

Interested in making a little oasis for your pollinators? Join us on August 25th from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm to make your own pollinator watering stations! You will make and decorate your own, and see how to upcycle old materials, or start fresh!
It is $15 per person, and registration and payment are due by August 18th at 5:00 pm to reserve your spot. Once materials are purchased, refunds will not be offered.

Join United Way of Gordon County for an evening of family fun, literacy, and community celebration!

We're wrapping up our inaugural United We Read summer program with a FREE Back-to-School Bash and Kids' Race designed to celebrate reading, healthy living, and the incredible families of Gordon County.

🏃 8:00 PM – 1K (Ages 8–12)

Race participation is FREE, but registration is encouraged for free Kids' Race T-shirt.

United We Read was created to bring books, literacy activities, and community resources directly into neighborhoods across Gordon County. In just our first summer, we've already connected with more than 700 children and 342 parents, and we're excited to celebrate all that we've accomplished together.

Whether your child is racing across the finish line, picking out a free book, meeting local heroes, or simply enjoying an evening with family, there's something for everyone.
