Pathway Caring For Children

Pathway Caring For Children Pathway Caring for Children's mission is to help children and families realize the possibilities of through foster care, adoption, and counseling.

The staff members, volunteers, and foster parents of Pathway seek to make real seven basic ideals in the lives of the children who come to us. Most important, we love and care for each youth individually. We recognize them as persons and teach them to respect themselves and others; provide them with security of knowing that we are here for them; help them find the paths of success in school, work

and social relationships; encourage them in the assumption of responsibility for themselves and their actions; and become personally involved with them in their struggle for meaning and purpose in life.

It was a great day at the Kenan Advantage Group KAG Golf Classic! We sincerely thank KAG, all the golfers, hole sponsors, and companies who came out to support Pathway. And KAG was presented with a one of a kind mosaic table made by Pathway kids in partnership with ArtsinStark artist Dyanne Williams Mosaics.

A special shoutout to Pathway teen, Sam, for sharing his heartfelt and inspiring story.
The generosity of donors and sponsors support vulnerable children and families, helping them heal from trauma and realize the possibilities of their lives through foster care, adoption, and mental health services.

Can you believe it's that time again? A smooth transition into the new school year is so important for success both at home and during the school day. Follow these tips to shake any back-to-school jitters.

-Create a routine: Set consistent times for homework, play, relaxation, unplugging, and bedtime.
-Check in: Ask about your child’s day, validate their feelings, and provide a judgment-free space to talk.
-Get outside: Help release built-up energy while spending time together.
-Encourage independence: Involve children in planning lunches and transportation so they know what to expect.
-Connect with teachers: Build open communication and work together to support your child and the classroom.

38 teens spent last week at TRUST Adventure Therapy Camp, where they built confidence, discovered new strengths, and formed friendships that crossed backgrounds and communities.

One of the most meaningful moments? Two former campers returned as volunteers and peer mentors, giving back to the program that once helped shape their own lives.
Because of your support, teens experienced a week filled with encouragement, connection, and hope for a brighter future. Thank you for making moments like these possible.

Summer-lovin had us a blast as Pathway staff stepped back in time for a Grease-themed Summer Carnival! From carnival games and lots of laughter to friendly competition, it was an afternoon full of fun!
Of course, no carnival would be complete without the grand finale... a good-natured pie in the face! 🥧😂
Moments like these remind us that taking time to connect, laugh, and celebrate together helps build the strong team that supports children and families every day.

💙 Focus on what you can control.

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when so much is outside of our control. Instead of focusing on what's uncertain, shift your energy toward small actions that support your well-being.

Today, try one of these:
💧 Drink a glass of water.
💬 Reach out and talk with someone you trust.
🧼 Tidy one small space around you.
💛 Do one act of kindness for someone else.

Small steps can make a big difference. Which one will you choose today?
