Along with losing a loved one, grief can also appear when one experiences an extreme change in their life. From losing a job or your home to a major health event and more, grief can hit everyone differently.

Chasing Hope House is concerned by reports that $15 million in proposed college scholarship funding for Ohio youth in foster care was removed, while schools are being asked to take on more responsibility without additional funding.

Supporting foster youth requires more than good intentions. It requires real investment, resources, and opportunity.

We encourage Ohio leaders to revisit this funding and work with schools, community organizations, and young people with lived experience to create solutions that truly support their future.

Ohio’s foster youth deserve investment, not added barriers.

Ohio lawmakers started with a plan for $15 million in college scholarships for foster youth. That money is now gone from the bill.

In its place: new responsibilities for schools, with no additional funding attached.

💛 WHO IS CHASING HOPE HOUSE?

If you’re new here—or you’ve been following us and wondering exactly what we do—we’d love to introduce ourselves. 👋

Chasing Hope House (CHH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth and young adults who are in the foster care system, experiencing housing instability, or preparing for the transition into independent adulthood.

Our mission is about more than meeting immediate needs. We want young people to have the support, guidance, resources, and practical skills they need to build stable, confident and self-sufficient futures.

Through CHH, we work to provide opportunities for:

💛 Life skills & independent living preparation
📚 Educational support & resources
🤝 Mentorship, guidance & positive connections
🏠 Support for youth facing housing instability
🌱 Personal growth, confidence & preparation for adulthood
🌎 Community connections, resources & continued support

And we’re growing. 🏠✨

COMING SOON: CHH is currently in the process of preparing to open our first Independent Living Program for youth in the foster care system.

This is an exciting next chapter for our organization and another step toward creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow, prepare for independence and move into adulthood with people in their corner.

At CHH, we believe young people deserve more than being told to “figure it out.”

Independence is something that should be taught, supported and practiced—not simply expected.

Whether you’re a community member, educator, foster parent, business, organization, potential volunteer, donor—or someone who simply believes in our mission—we invite you to follow our journey and become part of the CHH community.

Chasing Hope House is looking for **community teams** ready to bring the energy, creativity, and a little friendly competition to our Community Lip Sync Battle!🏆

We’re calling on local businesses, nonprofits, schools, community organizations, public officials, first responders, and local leaders to put together a team and show us what you’ve got!

And don’t worry… actual singing ability is NOT required.😂
All you need is a song, some personality, and the confidence to own the stage!
