I want to thank all the members of Carrington Volunteer Fire and Rescue for the quick response this morning for mutual aid in New Rockford for the apartment fire. Also, a great job to the New Rockford Fire Department for their quick response and attack on the fire. It could have been a way worse situation, but both departments worked well together and limited the damage as much as possible. Have a happy 4th of July everyone and stay safe! We will see you at the parade this afternoon at 5:00 pm in Carrington with community fireworks at dusk at the Foster County Fairgrounds.

Nearly two years after a fiery train derailment near Carrington released hazardous materials and forced evacuations, federal investigators have determined the probable cause was a collapsed subgrade supporting the track structure.
