This week, our released WRAP participants gathered with their mentors and WRAP leadership for our first aftercare mentoring nights since their release. Around this room are men who are choosing a different path, surrounded by people committed to walking that path with them.We're celebrating a week filled with incredible milestones:

✅ Nearly every participant has secured employment.
✅ Every participant has safe housing.
✅ Strong mentoring relationships are already forming as these men learn what it means to successfully reintegrate into society as changed men.

At The Compassion Center, we are deeply humbled to be an instrument of the Bartow WRAP Program through our Bridges Out of Poverty Getting Ahead While Getting Out curriculum.

While jobs and housing are important, lasting transformation happens through relationships. We believe real change comes when people are known, encouraged, challenged, and supported, not simply given a handout.

This is why we invest in transformational relationships rather than transactional assistance. When someone walks beside you, believes in you, and refuses to let you give up on yourself, hope becomes tangible.

Thank you to every mentor, leader, volunteer, and community partner who continues to pour into these men. Lives are being changed, families are being restored, and futures are being rewritten one relationship at a time. Strong lasting futures are built on firm foundations.

Last night, our newest WRAP participants gathered for their very first aftercare group alongside their mentors and WRAP leadership.

Aftercare is one of the most important parts of successful reentry. It provides a safe place to navigate challenges, celebrate victories, strengthen new ways of thinking and living, and remind each participant that they are not alone. When life gets hard, and it will, they have a community ready to walk beside them.

We couldn’t be more proud of what these individuals have accomplished in just their first few days after release. But we also know this is often the “honeymoon phase” of reentry. The real work happens over time, and lasting transformation requires consistent support, accountability, and encouragement.

That’s why we’ll continue to show up celebrating every win, helping them through every setback, and reminding them that hope grows stronger when no one has to walk the journey alone. ❤️

Our Getting Ahead program is designed for individuals experiencing generational or situational poverty who are ready to build resources, discover new opportunities, and create a plan for the future they want.

Over 20 weeks, participants will gain valuable tools, connect with a supportive community, and develop a personalized "Future Story" that helps turn goals into action.

This week, we served 80 people at our Day Use Center. 🤍

Eighty opportunities to provide support. Eighty opportunities to offer encouragement. Eighty reminders of why this work matters.

Every visit represents someone seeking resources, community, and a place where they are treated with dignity and care.

The word “Forgiven” has been tattooed on his arm for years. But through the Bartow WRAP program, he’s beginning to truly understand what that word means.

God’s forgiveness has shown him that his past does not define his future. And through a community of leaders who have walked alongside him, encouraged him, equipped him, and constantly shown up for him, he’s learning something else; how to trust.

Trust God. Trust others. Trust that change is possible.

What was once a word he thought he knew meant is becoming a testimony of grace, healing, and transformation.

Over 20 weeks, participants will work alongside others in a supportive environment, gain practical life skills, and develop a personalized plan for moving forward.
