Today, May 12th, around 3:00 p.m., Carver Fire responded to a grass fire in Dahlgren Township. Due to changing wind conditions, the fire continued to spread, prompting mutual aid assistance from Shakopee Fire, Chaska Fire, Cologne Fire, and Victoria Fire. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all crews on scene, all fire departments cleared the scene shortly after 6:00 p.m. We are incredibly thankful for the support of our neighboring departments!

As our crews were cleaning up, our very own Carver Youth Baseball and Softball Association came by with Kona Ice to offer a sweet, cold treat for firefighters after hearing about the call. Thank you CCYSBA and Kona Ice for your kindness and generosity - We are truly grateful for the amazing support from our community!

Yesterday, a few of our members attended the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce 4th Annual First Responder Luncheon. During the event, we were proud to organize a meaningful surprise in honor of Fire Chief Walsh, recognizing his actions on a recent call that exemplified his dedication, leadership, and passion for the fire service.

“What truly sets Chief Walsh apart is his humility. He does not seek recognition or praise; in fact, he would likely shy away from this nomination altogether – (so we nominated him without his knowledge!). He serves simply because he cares—about his department, his community, and the responsibility entrusted to him. That rare combination of dedication and modesty is what makes him truly one of a kind.”

“Chief Walsh embodies what it means to be a leader in the fire service. He puts the needs of his community above his own, consistently going above and beyond without hesitation or complaint. His impact is felt not only in the calls he answers, but in the culture of respect, professionalism, and teamwork he fosters every day.”

Please join us in celebrating Fire Chief Walsh on this deeply meaningful honor and recognition—well deserved and a true reflection of his dedication to the fire service.
