Spots still open for Chanhassens Safety Camp! Make sure to secure yours before it’s filled up!

Is your child entering 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade? Enroll them in our new Safety Camp at Lake Ann Park! Campers learn vital safety skills related to fire, bikes, water, first aid, severe weather and more. There will be special visits from the LifeLink helicopter, plus police and fire drones, along with squad car and fire engine tours. Don’t miss this chance to equip your kids with essential safety skills!

Update 5/14/26 at 7:30am: The Carver County Sheriff's Office will be leading additional search efforts today near Winkel Park. You may see public safety personnel from multiple different agencies in the area. Please avoid the area and give them space to work. Continue following the sheriff’s office page for further updates.

Update 5/13/26 at 7:30pm: Police and Fire personnel remain on scene of the water emergency. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office will be the lead investigating agency, which is standard procedure when an incident occurs in a body of water. Further information will be released by them. No further updates from CPD.

Chaska Police found this very cute but very scared young girl near the 220 Walnut St N apartment building overnight. She doesn’t have a collar. She has a microchip, which says her name is Sofia and she’s about 4 months old. However, there was no owner information available.
