Specialized teams played a vital role in 2025. The Dive Team logged 855 training hours, Water Patrol worked 136 hours, and the Drug Task Force opened 18 cases. Our SWAT team responded to 10 activations, while the K9 Unit completed 44 deployments, including drug sniffs, demos, tracks, and searches. These teams expand our capabilities and strengthen community safety. am647

Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud reports that an investigation by the Carver County Sheriff's Office has resulted in the arrest of Brandon Alexander Lilly, 56, of Apple Valley, MN, for solicitation of a minor.
In May 2026, a Carver County detective initiated an undercover operation using an online profile representing a juvenile. Lilly communicated with the undercover profile and engaged in extended communication.
Investigators documented multiple incidents of communication that formed the basis for criminal charges. On May 27, 2026, Lilly arranged to meet the juvenile he believed he was communicating with. Lilly was arrested in Carver County after arriving at the meeting location.
Lilly has been charged with multiple felony counts, including electronic communication relating to sexual conduct with a child and solicitation of a child for sexual conduct.
This case remains under investigation.
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office considers crimes targeting children among the most serious offenses it investigates. This case is the result of deliberate, sustained investigative work, and this agency will continue to actively pursue all individuals who seek to exploit minors — online or otherwise. Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with children about online safety and to report suspicious contact to law enforcement immediately.

In 2025, patrol deputies remained active in promoting roadway safety by conducting 323 TZD traffic stops. TZD (Toward Zero Deaths) traffic stops are proactive, high‑visibility enforcement efforts focused on reducing serious‑injury and fatal crashes, often targeting impaired driving, speeding, seat belt use, and other dangerous behaviors. Throughout the year, deputies issued 15,009 warnings, 2,729 citations, and responded to 16,608 traffic‑related incidents, all in support of safer roads across the county. am647
