Center Point School

Prior to the settlement of the community of Zanzenburg and Center Point, school was taught in shacks and homes. From 1876-1884, the Center Point Academy served as the community’s school. Nowlin donated an acre of land for a school building and a plank building was erected. In 1910, San Antonio architect Alfred Giles designed and J.V. Oppert built a

two-story limestone building. The school officially opened for classes in the Fall of 1911. Students still receive an education in the original limestone building, which serves as an educational and social hub for Center Point.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Graduates,

We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast throughout the day, and the forecast is now calling for clear weather at the time of graduation. Because the skies are clearing up for tonight, we will be holding graduation at 7:00 at Pirate Stadium as originally planned.

Thank you all for your flexibility and cooperation today. We are so excited that the weather is cooperating, and we can't wait to see you all at the stadium tonight to celebrate the Class of 2026!

Subject: Important Update: Clarification Regarding Today's Lockdown Alert

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you that a district-wide lockdown was accidently initiated by a staff member today at 11:37.

We want to clarify that this was an accidental activation of the alert system. There was no imminent threat to any of our students, staff, or campus facilities. All students and staff followed our safety protocols. We were able to quickly identify the error and issue an "all clear."

We understand that receiving such an alert can be distressing. Please be assured that the safety of our students is our highest priority, and we are currently reviewing the incident with our security team and staff to ensure this does not happen again.

This event has zero relation to the actual "Hold in place" that was initiated earlier today.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our school community.

Sincerely,
Josh Limmer, Superintendent
