May is Older Americans Month.

AZCEND supports older adults across the East Valley through Senior Centers in Chandler and Gilbert, meal delivery and wellness checks for homebound seniors, and the East Valley Senior Home Sharing Program serving Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Tempe.

Last year, more than 19,000 meals were served on-site at AZCEND Senior Centers, and more than 36,000 meals were delivered to neighbors who are homebound.

Because of compassionate community support, older adults across our community can remain connected, cared for and independent.

Participants in the East Valley Senior Home Sharing program benefit from:

✔ Access to resources and services

For many seniors, this program helps reduce the stress of rising living costs while creating meaningful relationships along the way.

AZCEND and its partners guide participants through a thoughtful matching process that includes:
- Screening and background checks
- Compatibility matching
- Case management and support
- Ongoing check-ins

The goal is simple: create stable, supportive living arrangements that allow seniors to maintain independence while easing financial pressure.

After a lifetime of hard work, many older adults in our community are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of housing and basic needs.

In Arizona, older adults are now the fastest growing population experiencing homelessness. Many seniors live on fixed incomes that simply have not kept pace with rent, utilities and health care costs.

That is why AZCEND partners with Aster Aging and Tempe Community Action Agency through the East Valley Senior Home Sharing program.

Together, we are helping seniors stay housed, connected and independent through safe and supportive home sharing.

Because no one should face housing insecurity after a lifetime of contributing to their community.
