For having made the decision at the last moment to enter this race, no preparation, no finances, and very little knowledge of how to campaign, I think we have done extremely well to this point!
After the initial 62-38% results on election night, which I personally believe was generated largely from the democrats who voted for my opponent, the update yesterday came in at a 55-45% split. The rest of the approximately 5000 ballots left to count I would expect to shift even more in my favor since they will be almost exclusively ballots from "election deniers" that have a much greater tendency to turn their ballots in on election day. If we can narrow the margin to 10 points, I will have a really great shot at winning the general election!
Once we are closer to having the results finalized, I will get together with my campaign team and come up with a strategy for winning this thing in November!!
Once again I would really like to thank everyone for the tremendous support, especially those who have voluntarily sacrificed their time and energy by serving on my campaign team! A special shout out to Brenda Parsons St John, my treasurer, Grant and Linda Peterson for their advice and guidance, my brother Warren Simpson for his unwavering support and assistance in placing signs, Diane Yarroll for her courage to step into the arena to shine a light on dysfunction in the auditor's office, and last but not least, two of the most amazing people that I have had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with, Mark and LaVonne Burrows! You all are the reason I am completely committed to doing everything I can to win this race!!
