The search process has begun for the next CPD Superintendent. We are asking residents to fill out the survey below by scanning the QR Code. We will soon announce where the in person public hearing regarding the Superintendent.

The fact that it took 3 years and a little over 5 months to investigate and come to the correct conclusion and clearing the officer is unacceptable. One has to wonder why it took so long to complete the investigation. It's unfortunate that someone lost their life, but from the video footage it seems pretty clear that she was fighting for her life and safety.

Chicago's police oversight agency has cleared a police officer who fatally shot a man after he tried to rob her of her firearm during an off-duty encounter outside her Washington Heights home, according to newly released records.

The 9th Annual Garfield Ridge Stars and Stripes 5k was a monumental success. Honoring fallen FF Andrew "Drew" Price was truly an honor. This year's event was the largest in the history of the race.
As a city and a community we can never fully pay back the sacrifices FF Price and other 1st Responders have made in the line of duty. We must continue supporting our 1st Responders.
Donations to 100 Club and Ignite the Spirit were made to support each organizations work. Great job by the Ortega Family who started this race and have grown it to the great event it had become annually. District Council 008- CCPSA was pleased to be a sponsor for this great event. Happy 4th July Week!

Today a community paid respects to three of its own thru a mural created by a terrific artist.
District Council 008- CCPSA attended the community Mural event to honor three of Chicago's Fallen Heroes. The mural done by Anna Murphy was amazing and showed unity. A true masterpiece for the community and families to be proud of. Being able to leave a message on the wall was an honor for DC008 and to leave a message of support for our officers.
Kudos to 23rd Ward Alderman Silvana Tabares, The Chicago Police Soccer Club, Chicity Sports, and all involved to add this artwork to the West Lawn Community.
