Central States SER - Jobs for Progress, Inc. Central States SER (SER) is a community-based organization that believes in the potential of each and every individual.

For the past 25 years, SER has assisted thousands of marginalized and disadvantaged residents from across the City of Chicago and the region in achieving their career and academic goals through quality employment, education and training programs. We help some of the hardest-to-reach youth and adults – people trying to improve their lives but who are at risk of slipping through the cracks. Ser is t

he Spanish verb “to be,” which embodies the spirit of SER’s belief in the possibility of change – at the individual, family and community level. At SER, we help the people we serve to become who they want to be: a high school graduate, a college student, a healthcare professional, a working dad or mom able to support their family…

We accomplish this by developing and delivering services that are sophisticated, personalized and well-aligned with the local economy. We stay abreast of regional hiring trends and establish direct relationships with a range of high-growth, high-demand companies. We use our deep roots in the community to stay accessible to those most in need, and we partner with a variety of organizations to better serve individuals and their families.
