Chicago Alive Camp (CAY Camp) is a camp experience for the at-risk youth in Chicago. The FEC puts on CAY camp in the summer and winter. At winter camp this last year, our mentors and students experienced nature and community in incredible ways!

Staff Highlight: Last but certainly not least, Scott Manke! Scott is the founder, President and Executive Director of Family Empowerment Centers and its daughter organization, Donate Your Boat, SMLLC. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Psychology from Nyack College. Scott completed his Masters degree from Wheaton Graduate School in Mission and Intercultural Studies.

Staff Highlight: Rachel Madella. Born and raised in Hyderabad, India, Rachel moved to Chicago in 2015. While in Chicago, she graduated from Moody Theological Seminary and began attending Redemption Church, which meets at the FEC. She joined the FEC staff team in January 2018. Rachel has a vast amount of work experience and passions. She’s awed to see how God would actually combine her multicultural interests, love for people, the desire for missions and discipleship and place her at FEC.

My family came to know Family Empowerment Centers through some friends from school. We decided to check it out and it became our second home. This is where we’d come after school so we weren’t home alone, where we attended summer programming, where we knew we would be fed and well taken care of. The FEC has since grown to be a food pantry, host ESL classes, provide mentorship, and host college interns.
For the past 18 years, Family Empowerment Centers has been at the forefront of creating pathways of opportunity for under resourced individuals and families to experience greater joy and therefore greater hope in their future. By joining my team financially, you are helping to mentor children and feed families in the inner city of Chicago's north side. Join my team by donating here!
