The University of Chicago has a lot of resources to help you stay safe, and we wanted to share some tips to help you navigate living and staying safe in a large urban environment like Chicago:

In recognition of the Juneteenth holiday on June 19, certain daytime UGo Shuttle routes will not be in service.

UGo NightRide shuttles will operate with limited service, with service running every 30 minutes from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m.

All routes for the University of Chicago Medical Center will continue to follow their usual schedule, but the street closures related to the opening of the Obama Presidential Center mean that some shuttles will be rerouted with some stops being missed.

NWS expects two rounds of storms to move through our area: The first round, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., could produce destructive hail and winds.

The second round is potentially more dangerous. It is expected to hit between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. and could produce tornadoes.

Make sure that you have a way to receive weather-related alerts tomorrow.

We will share any severe weather watches and warnings from the National Weather Service for the area around The University of Chicago's campus on our social media channels.

As you may have noticed, there are a lot of road closures and parking restrictions on and near The University of Chicago campus ahead of the opening of the Obama Presidential Center.

The Midway Plaisance is closed to traffic between Woodlawn and Dorchester until June 19, and those closures will extend to Ellis Avenue from June 17 to June 19.

The University's core functions, including transportation services, are still operational, but most UGo Shuttle routes are affected by the street closures.
