TS & SP for OVH Forsaken Forest 2026 Revew:

RECAP: Haunted trails are among the best types of haunted attractions. Nothing sets the mood quite like walking through the woods in the middle of the night, surrounded by darkness and the unknown. Dim lighting provides just enough guidance to keep you moving forward, but beyond that narrow stretch of light, the woods conceal most everything else. A branch snaps somewhere in the distance. Leaves rustle just beyond the trail. You catch yourself looking into the trees, wondering whether that sound was part of the haunt, or something you weren't meant to find. Sometimes, the woods themselves provide enough fright without a single monster needing to appear. Forsaken Forest takes that experience one step further. What will you encounter on your journey through the woods? Vampires? Zombies? Chainsaw-wielding lunatics? There's only one way to find out. Just remember, the light-limited trail may show you where to walk, but it won't reveal what's waiting just beyond the next bend.

Their show actually begins prior to the trail itself as Bozo and Tipsy stir up trouble in the queue line, tormenting and entertaining the crowd with their twisted antics. Lucky soon steps forward delivering the rules, then the unknown adventure begin. There's no turning back now! Once inside, a spooky cemetery, bathed in eerie blue light, showcases tombstones and skeletal figures. Towering trees loom over the trail, their branches swallowing what little bit of light manages to reach the ground offering just enough guidance to follow the winding path. Beyond their reach, the woods conceals nocturnal vampires, and whatever else might be lurking in their midst.

Progression leads deeper into the darkness where encounters grow increasingly bizarre. Strange characters bring their own warped personalities to life, first in the form of a face-to-face encounter with a psychotic killer that’s soon followed by a wayward junkyard occupied by bickering, radiation-obsessed mechanics Mark and Scott injecting a dose of dark humor amid the surroundings complete with an unexpected handstand against the wall! But don’t let your guard down, for Nurse Ratchet's infection checkpoint waits to separate those presenting with symptoms of some unidentified illness to see the doctor, while “healthy” visitors continue into a succession of bizarre medical mishaps. Sergeant Blackburn offers some brief help dealing with the diseased sufferers, but she’s soon attacked and killed leaving patrons to once again fend for themselves.

On the horizon, Dr. Ivan Stitch's laboratory seems intent on resolving the mysterious virus, questioning, "Have either of you been bitten?” while requesting sleeves to be rolled up for an impromptu examination. Cautioned against various symptoms, a test subject is injected with a live strain of the deadly pathogen as research persists beyond a cryo chamber, before the crisis returns the course to the woods unresolved, and eventually into an enclosed maze. Loud music fills the air while chainsaws roar to life from all directions including elevated platforms! Attackers jump down to continue their deadly assaults giving chase throughout the remainder of the menacing entrapment.

Roaming zombies; a distressed victim desperately searching for a lost friend, Amber Lynn; flashing lights; and pounding music are still to come, when suddenly, a frantic scream cuts through the chaos pleading, "Please! You gotta get me out of here! Please!!” But she’s too late in asking as a heartless madman grabs the helpless victim and whisks her through a trapdoor never to be seen or heard from again! More chainsaws soon engulf furtherance, taking control of the route, and complicating the finale that leaves one trembling, confused, and running on adrenaline alone until this one-last pack of rabid killers finally relinquish their grasp and permit the escape from the wrath of Forsaken Forest.

ANALYSIS: Now enjoying their fourth season, Forsaken Forest delivers a strong overall experience anchored by a lengthy, 25 minute adventure comprised of unique scares and strong actors and personalities. Mark and Scott's bickering, Nurse Ratchet's bizarre medical antics, and the chainsaw aggressors demonstrate the variety of ways scenes come to life. Dialogue and direct interaction combine to draw guests into the encounters and help keep groups moving naturally from one scene to another.

Clowns have been relocated to the queue line this year, thus losing their abode within the attraction proper. C.U. Splatter, Madame Miri, and Leatherface along with his treacherous shed are missed, as is their original, one-of-a-kind mulching machine and its accompanying award-winning scare. These mainstays contributed to the venue’s identity, and their absence is noticeable. Even so, Forsaken Forest has firmly established itself as a must-see Ohio Valley Haunts attraction delivering memorable characters, an immersive atmosphere, and intense scares!

Forsaken Forest is a proud, founding member of The Ohio Valley Haunts Passport of Terror Tour.
