MOE ROAD, CARLTON ROAD REOPEN

Clifton Park Highway Department Reopen Carlton and Moe Roads, Work Continues

Clifton Park, NY – Carlton and Moe Roads have reopened in the Town of Clifton Park.

Moe Road is still an active construction site but is open to traffic. In coordination with the Saratoga County Sewer District #1, the construction area remained unpaved but open for travel. The Sewer District has requested that the area remain open for several weeks before paving operations can commence. While Moe Road is open, we ask residents and travelers to drive through the area slowly and cautiously.

Carlton Road has been open to regular traffic.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on the repairs of these locations caused by record breaking weather events. Residents with questions may contact Highway Department at 518-371-7310 or via email at [email protected].

MOE ROAD, CARLTON ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE
Clifton Park Highway Department & Water Authority Continue to Repair Damages from July 29th and 30th, 2026, Record Breaking Rains & Water Main Break

MOE ROAD, Clifton Park, NY – Work continues on the culvert replacement on Moe Road just north of Clifton Park Center Road. The condition of the culvert (originally installed in the 1970’s) was degraded to the point that the entire span across Moe Road needed to be replaced. Many important facets of Clifton Park’s infrastructure are currently over the culvert pipe. This includes water mains, pressurized sewer mains, storm drains and telecommunications/fiberoptics. Work must be completed very carefully so as not to interrupt these very important public and private services. While carefully working around these utilities, work continues with the anticipation that the culvert will be completed in as timely of a fashion as possible within the area of the damage. A diagram has been made available to display the sensitivity of the work zone.

Access to the Clifton Park Halfmoon Library and the eastern entrance of Shenendehowa Schools is accessible via State Route 146 and Moe Road. Just south of the Clifton Park Halfmoon Library on Moe Road, the road will be closed and impassable. Seek alternative routes through this area of Clifton Park.

CARLTON ROAD, Clifton Park, NY – The water main break of July 30th, 2026, has been repaired but has left severe damage to Carlton Road in the area of the railroad overpass between Van Patten Drive and Kinns Road. The area remains closed as Highway and Water Authority Crews work to drain excess water from the area, rebuild the foundation of the road and ensure the subbase of the road is stable enough for re-paving and normal traffic. At this point in time the area remains incredibly saturated with water, providing swamp-like conditions incapable of vehicular traffic. Crews are reestablishing stormwater systems and ditches in efforts to assist the drainage of the roads subbase. Until the area stabilizes, paving cannot be completed and Carlton Road will remain closed.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on the repairs of these locations caused by record breaking weather events. Residents with questions may contact Highway Department at 518-371-7310 or via email at [email protected].

Highway Department Repairing Washed Out Culvert

Clifton Park Highway Superintendent Dahn Bull announced today that Moe Road, from the intersection of State Route 146 and Moe Road to Moe Road and Clifton Park Center Road, will be closed temporarily while repairing a culvert washed out by the heavy rains of Wednesday, July 29th, 2026. In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 30, 2026, the drainage of heavy rains from Wednesday has inundated local stormwater systems and a culvert crossing under Moe Road north of Clifton Park Center Road has washed out.

Closures are beginning immediately during the early morning hours of Thursday, July 30, 2026. It is possible the closure could last several days.

Access to the Clifton Park Halfmoon Library and the eastern entrance of Shenendehowa Schools is accessible via State Route 146 and Moe Road.
