TAKE ACTION to oppose the proposed new rules for federal grantees. On May 29, 2026, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed sweeping changes to overhaul the set of rules, known
as the Uniform Guidance, governing federal grants, cooperative agreements, and other monetary awards to nonprofits, state and
local governments, and other grantees. These proposed changes would lead to significant instability for grantees and for the people that they serve. The mechanism to evaluate, audit, and terminate grants already exists, but the proposed rule change would remove the language that protects grantees from termination of a grant for just cause--meaning that a grant could be terminated for any reason, including political, with no way to appeal the decision. We urge you to make your voice heard on this important issue. Please submit your comments by July 13th to oppose this proposed change.
