It was my privilege to honor the Civilian Police Review Board Tuesday for their dedication and service. Columbus voters demanded greater oversight and transparency of our police, and this board proves Columbus respects and celebrates our officers while holding them accountable. Mary Younger, Kyle Strickland, Dr. Chenelle Jones, and Pastor Rich Nathan, thank you for your groundbreaking work for our city.

Today, we officially launched the Nurse Health Care Navigation Line. The new 24/7 service links residents with a nurse for medical guidance when a 911 call doesn’t require an ambulance or ER visit. This is another way we’re connecting neighbors to the care that fits their needs. Columbus Department of Public Safety Columbus Division of Fire Emmanuel V. Remy

I was honored to celebrate 100 years of the Merry Makers Club, Inc. and their proud service to our community. Saturday’s Centennial Gala honored a legacy built on camaraderie, fellowship, and giving back, including their investment in the next generation of promising students through the March to a Million College Scholarship Campaign. Here’s to another 100 years. Elon Simms
