Columbus Arts and Technology Academy had a standout showing at the annual Accely Awards Dinner on July 7, earning 5 awards and recognitions for operational excellence, educator excellence, school culture and storytelling, and whole-school impact.
The school received several of ACCEL Schools’ whole-school impact honors, including ACCEL Emerald School and ACCEL Gold School. Together, these distinctions celebrate schools that demonstrate strength across academics, enrollment, retention, growth, and long-term school impact.
The school was also celebrated as a Student Enrollment Rockstar, a special executive recognition for multiyear, sustained enrollment growth. This honor reflects a school community that continues to build momentum and earn family trust year after year.
The school also received the Outstanding School Storytelling Award, recognizing authentic, consistent communication that helps families and the broader community see the life, pride, and impact of the school.
Adding to the celebration, Katrina Hurst of Columbus Arts and Technology Academy was named Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Grades 3-5, honoring excellence in instruction, school culture, family engagement, and student outcomes.
Held annually, The Accelys celebrate standout achievements across ACCEL Schools in areas such as academic growth, student achievement, enrollment, attendance, teacher excellence, school culture, leadership, and whole-school impact.
