Rep. Nick Santucci and I brought in 811 https://oups.org/ to speak with the Trumbull County Commissioners as a resource to Local Governments in Trumbull County to discuss telecommunications and utility hit issues which have been growing in our communities. 811 has excellent resources for Homeowners and Local Governments. A lot here but very helpful!

We will be working on legislation to help our residents and property owners.

Like many of you in Bazetta, Cortland, and Howland, I am very frustrated about the utility disruptions caused by we believe Brightspeed and their subcontractors. Damaging our water, sewer, and gas lines is a big safety issue, and we are taking it very seriously.

​This week, Rep. Nick Santucci and I have been on calls with our local governments, state policy officials, and industry reps to find immediate and long-term solutions.

​While we work on a long term plan, here is what we can do right now:

-​For Residents: Please keep a written record of any property damage, service outages, or out-of-pocket costs. (If you smell gas, leave the area immediately and call 911 and your gas provider first).
-​For Local Governments: We have advised our townships and cities to track all emergency response, labor, and infrastructure repair costs.

​Investigations will take place, and we are going to ensure this is not ignored. We will keep you updated as we move forward.
