August was a month filled with community, connection, and celebration across our district!

From celebrating the leadership and service of our dedicated volunteers and community organizations to visiting our young people at Sunrise Day Camp, supporting hardworking families at 32BJ SEIU Family Fun Day, and joining in the vibrant traditions of Salvadoran American Day and Pupusa Fest, it was a privilege to be out in the community.

We also celebrated exciting new beginnings with ribbon cuttings at EXIT Enjoy Realty and The Corner Eatery, connected with families at Brentwood’s “Kickoff to a New School Year” event, and joined business and community leaders for the continued growth and innovation happening across Long Island.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed our office, shared their stories, and continues to make our communities such special places to call home. Here’s to a great September ahead!

A big thank you to Pollo Campero and all the businesses and organizations who have supported relief efforts for Colombia and Venezuela. A true testament of communities coming together to help one another. The Fourth Senate District is a diverse community with ties around the world and helping families cope with devastation when they can’t be with loved ones, is what we do. There’s always strength in coming together. Please visit one of our Pollo Campero located in Central Islip, Brentwood and Amityville to help in the relief efforts!

It was an honor to join the 2nd Annual Heroes on the Diamond Charity Softball Game at Fairfield Properties Ballpark—a day that brought our law enforcement community together through camaraderie, compassion, and remembrance.

This year’s event carried an especially meaningful purpose, with a $15,000 donation presented to the McKee family in memory of NYPD Officer Patrick McKee. I am grateful to everyone who helped support his family and reminded them that they have a community standing with them.

We also paused to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th, honoring the 37 Port Authority Police Officers who gave their lives that day and remembering the officers who have since passed from 9/11-related illnesses. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten, nor will the families who continue to carry their legacy.

Thank you to the Port Authority PBA, MTA PBA, PAPD and MTA command staff, and everyone who came out to support this important event. From the on-field tribute and honor guards to the PAPD Pipes and Drums and Suffolk County Police Department flyover, the day was a powerful reminder of the strength of our law enforcement family.

It was a privilege to be part of a day dedicated to honoring those we have lost, supporting those who need us, and celebrating the bonds that unite us. 🇺🇸

I was proud to join Governor Kathy Hochul for the presentation of $3 million in state funding to EAC Network for improvements at its Wheeler Road campus.

Our office was also proud to allocate capital funding to support critical infrastructure projects. These investments will strengthen this vital community resource and help EAC Network continue supporting individuals and families across our community.

Volunteer firefighters are the backbone of our communities, answering the call when we need them most.

I’m proud to have sponsored legislation that increases the tax credit for volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers, providing meaningful financial recognition to the men and women who give their time, put themselves in harm’s way, and keep our communities safe.

As recruitment and retention challenges continue, we must do everything we can to support those who show up for us. This legislation is a tangible way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice.
