🎩✨ A Step Back in Time at the Sprague Mansion! ✨☕
We had an absolutely wonderful day today exploring the rich history of Rhode Island at the historic Gov. Sprague Mansion! From learning about the influential Sprague family to discovering why R.I. doesn’t have the death penalty, the guided tour was packed with fascinating stories. 🏛️📜

Our incredible group of seniors showed up in style, looking absolutely radiant dressed in their 1790s-inspired Sunday's best! The creativity and effort put into the period outfits—especially the fantastic hats—made the day truly magical. 👒👗

We wrapped up the afternoon chatting over light refreshments, delicious tea sandwiches, and fresh tea. Thank you so much to everyone who came out, brought their high energy, and made this educational tour such a memorable success!

💖 HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO THE ELISHA PROJECT! 💖

We are filled with immense gratitude today at the Cranston Senior Center! A massive, heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at The Elisha Project for their amazingly generous donation of 200 care bags for our seniors. 🛍️✨

Each bag was thoughtfully packed with essential personal hygiene products, toiletries, and vital healthcare items. These gifts do so much more than provide daily essentials—they show our seniors how deeply they are cared for and valued by our community.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our local elected officials who came out to support this event. Your continued dedication to the well-being of Cranston’s seniors makes days like this possible, and we truly appreciate your ongoing advocacy and support! 🏛️🤝

💚 CITIZENS HELPING CITIZENS! 💚

A massive shout-out and a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team of volunteers from Citizens Bank who joined us today at the Cranston Senior Center!

These absolute rockstars rolled up their sleeves and meticulously sanitized 360 chairs across our facility. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, our seniors can sit down safely and comfortably to enjoy their nutritious meals in our Dining Room.

Community partnerships like this are what keep us moving forward, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the time, energy, and care these volunteers brought with them today. You all truly made a difference!

🧠 This is a massive moment for the millions of Americans living with Alzheimer’s, their families, and their friends.

For the first time ever, simple blood tests can screen for Alzheimer’s. The problem? A legal barrier completely prevents Medicare from covering them. Only Congress has the power to change that.

The bipartisan Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention (ASAP) Act tears down that wall and gives Medicare the authority to follow the science. 🧬

Think of this as the "mammogram moment" for Alzheimer’s. 🎗️ When Congress cleared the way for Medicare to cover mammograms, screening rates soared and breast cancer deaths fell. 🌸 Better late than never! 🌸

We have been so incredibly busy here at the Cranston Senior Center with so many fantastic activities and programs that our calendars have been completely packed—which is why we are a little late in sharing these photos! But there was absolutely no way we were going to miss the opportunity to show off what a wonderful time all of our beautiful Mamas had at our Mother's Day celebration! 💕

What a beautiful day celebrating the heart of our community! 🌟

Today, the Office of Healthy Aging hosted a wonderful Senior Companion Program Appreciation Luncheon. It was an afternoon filled with gratitude for the incredible older adults who step up every day to provide companionship and support to those who need it most.

Through this vital program, volunteers offer more than just a friendly face; they provide essential assistance by helping their peers with:

🚗 Rides to run important errands.

🩺 Transportation to and from doctor's visits.

🤝 Meaningful friendship and connection.

These dedicated individuals ensure that no one in our community has to navigate aging alone. Their commitment helps their neighbors remain independent, active, and—most importantly—supported by a true friend.
