Moved recently? Don’t assume your voter registration followed you.

If you’ve changed addresses, check your registration and make sure your information is current. In Texas, voter registration is county-based, so a move can affect where and how you vote.

Take care of it before the October 5 deadline.

As we approach election season, it's pertinent that you think ahead and prepare.

Stricter ID requirements are a means of voter suppression, but it's on us to make sure we have everything we need to participate in the general election.

Here are the 7 acceptable forms of ID you can present at the polls:
- Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
- Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
- United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
- United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
- United States Passport (book or card)

You only have to possess ONE of these.

If you work hard in Texas, you should be able to build a good life here.

I joined the Texas State Employees Union for a conversation with blue-collar workers about the issues affecting our workforce — from wages and affordable housing to health care and retirement security.

The people who keep Texas running deserve policies that help them get ahead, not just get by.

What issues are affecting your daily life? Let me know in the comments.

Last August, I joined my colleagues in leaving the state to block a redistricting plan designed to dilute the political power of Black and Brown Texans.

We knew the risks: threats of arrest, removal from office, and surveillance.

We took that risk anyway, because the alternative was silence.

The fight that started with our quorum break is now a national conversation about who gets to draw the lines that decide whose vote counts.

We will continue to ensure Texans are heard and represented.
